What does Magdalena communicate to me?

THE VALUE OF SUFFERING

God had in His plan that Magdalena in a special way would suffer and make reparation for sin. Magdalena could have rejected God's offer by saying “No.” Rather she accepted it voluntarily and consciously. She not only meditated on Christ's suffering but also participated in it through visions and the stigmata. She was particularly close to the crucified Savior. In addition, she not only shared in the experience of Christ's suffering but also carried the suffering of other people to God in her prayers. She took upon her own shoulders the burdens of others and offered them to God. With the sacrifice of her own suffering she followed Christ's example and with this assisted Him in the salvation of human souls. In the eyes of today's world suffering has no value. It is merely an unnecessary evil that must be eliminated in every way. The world demands healthy and successful people. However, there is not a human being who does not meet sadness, worry, illness, or some other suffering in life. On the other hand, Christ gave a new meaning to our suffering when He took all of human suffering upon Himself. He redeemed us with His own suffering and death, not only with words. Magdalena said we should not search for suffering, but that which God allows us we should bear patiently, courageously, and obediently. Only the soul who loves the Savior with his whole being can do this. Suffering and love go hand in hand. God knows of all our suffering and wishes only that we offer it to Him with love.

JESUS IS TRULY PRESENT IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST

Life without any kind of food other than the Eucharist demonstrates and confirms the teaching of the Church that Holy Communion is not just a sign or symbol, but rather truly Jesus' presence in the consecrated bread. Magdalena's life and her veneration of the Blessed Sacrament summons us to understand the Holy Eucharist as a meeting with the true and living God. Truly then it is necessary that we prepare for Holy Communion and then afterwards give thanks for receiving Him, our Creator.

SURRENDERED FULFILLMENT OF GOD'S WILL

Magdalena endeavored from the very beginning to accept and carry out the Will of God and moreover did this unconditionally with childlike trust despite the fact that her cross was often very difficult. We remember her patient bearing of illness, her dependence on help from others because of paralysis, her voluntary suffering for others, the terrible pain caused by the stigmata, and the immense suffering which human wickedness caused her. Never did she complain but rather accepted it all – all for the deliverance of what is most precious: human souls. She also completely offered to God concern for her physical life. For forty-seven years God provided bodily food for her and preserved her life. Magdalena invites us to childlike acceptance of God's will, not to mean that we surrender our lives, concerns, and suffering to blind fate, but rather into the loving hand of Our God, Who knows what is best for us.
